Abstract :
This paper introduces an new strategy for simplifying the digital PLC implementation based on the fuzzy functional equivalent system (FFS) and direct analog-crisp to digital-fuzzy conversion. An off-line procedure is used to determine the FFS equivalent for the original fuzzy logic system. Since the A/D converter quantifier determines the antecedent structure of the equivalent FFS yields, the above procedure follows only the consequent adaptation. The direct fuzzification and the simplified software structure of the on-line inference are presented. Furthermore, the most appropriate inference structure and membership functions are presented. The new control system is replacing the fuzzy logic controller used to control the efficiency optimization of an induction machine drive. Comparative control surfaces are presented
