Abstract :
The CdTe nanocrystals (NCs) were synthesized by the paraffin route method using paraffin liquid, oleic acid and trioctylphosphine (TOP) as precursor solvents. Synthesis of NCs was carried out using the solvents with high melting point in order to improve the quality of NCs. CdTe NCs having cubic structure with spherical shape were obtained, and it was found that size and shape of CdTe NCs are dependent both on temperature and action of oleic acid [1]. The addition of paraffin liquid and oleic acid protects the synthesized CdTe NCs from oxidation [3]. If using CdTe NCs, that have the potential to enhance light absorption and improve charge transport. As-synthesized CdTe NCs were investigated by various methods including XRD, TEM, UV-Vis spectrometer and EDS.
