Abstract :
This paper presents a method to compensate the probe current computation in microstrip antenna simulation using FDTD (the finite difference time domain) algorithm. Compensation of probe current computation is necessary because of differentiation error by cell structure in FDTD simulation. Probe current analysis is compensated by multiplying a coefficient which is computed by the surface of integral closed path in Ampere´s circuital law as presented by Gao (1999). This paper presents two applications of current compensation method in probe feeding simulations. The first one is applied when the probe is defined in rectangular coordinate. The second one is applied when probe is defined in cylindrical coordinate. By using the current compensation method in probe feeding simulation, the differentiation error is reduced.
