Abstract :
Radar sensors for automotive applications are used to measure the target distance and azimuth angle as well as the radial component of the target´s velocity. To overcome the limitation of pure radial velocity measurements, this paper presents a technique how to estimate the lateral (cross-range) velocity component of extended targets by a single radar observation.
