Abstract
Recently, a new efficient detection method referred to as group zero-forcing (GZF) was proposed to achieve low complexity and high diversity for MIMO systems. In this paper, a diversity and multiplexing tradeoff (DMT) analysis is given for diagonal-BLAST (D-BLAST) MIMO with GZF detection over Rayleigh fading channels. It is shown that the DMT of such group detection is d(r) = (N - 1)(M - r(M+1)/2)+ for r ≥ 2/M+1 and d(r) = (MN - M + 1) - rN(M+1)/2 for 0 ≤ r <; 2/M+1 for MIMO with M transmit antennas and TV receive antennas, where d denotes the diversity gain and r is the multiplexing gain.
