Abstract
In this paper, a simple clutter scanner for millimeter wave range is described. Our target was to design a device that can be used to measure background clutter characteristics of different kind of operating sceneries. Scanner presented in this article, is intended for automatic, true three dimensional clutter recordings through extended periods of time. The main components of our design are the millimetre wave unit, the mechatronic scanner and the data acquisition and control computer. Scanning sector is up to 40 degrees in azimuth and 20 degrees in elevation. Resolution is roughly 0.3 degrees, and dynamic range is 40 dB.
