  • Abstract
This paper presents an automotive qualified, fully integrated AMR based sensor to enable contactless angle/position detection by means of rotating magnetic fields. The sensor provides amplified, as well as amplitude and offset compensated sinusoidal and co-sinusoidal components of the angle as differential analog voltages. The sensor allows achieving an angle error of 0.1° at room temperature as well as an overall angle error over temperature of less than 0.9° - representing a step ahead in performance of AMR angle sensors. The architecture of the sensor IC and its measurements are shown.
