Abstract
The knowware system (KWS) has been proposed as a framework to develop an intelligent tool for developers to model and develop their customized knowledge-based system (KBS). KWS provides some classes of knowledge-based processing units and an automatic construction of inference structure based on developers´ design. An inference structure consists of intelligent components that are customized knowledge-based processing units with support of domain knowledge specified. The target KBS includes the inference structure constructed by KWS as well as an inference engine to control the inference flow in the KBS. This article further discusses inference in intelligent components of KBS constructed by KWS and protocol between intelligent components in inference structure.
