Abstract :
Behavior of harmonics and interharmonics in an electrical distribution system of institutional campus are analyzed in this paper. The survey is performed in order to improve the quality of the power supply, which is an essential requirement in modern power system. The aim of the work is to identify the level and type of the harmonics present in the system, which is connected with large number of nonlinear loads. In this paper, the harmonic and interharmonic behaviors of four different kinds of typical harmonic sources in the institute distribution system are discussed. The analysis is performed with a help of power quality analyzer that could record waveforms and give the harmonic spectrum of various parameters that could cause problem in the power quality. According to the measurement and analysis, the harmonics and interharmonics effect on the distribution system is discussed.
