Abstract :
This paper reports on a blood pressure measurement device for measuring blood pressure by the arterial tonometry method with micro triaxial force sensor. The micro triaxial force sensor consists of two pressure sensor elements and six shear stress sensor elements. These sensor elements can measure the vertical and horizontal components of blood pressure. Additionally, the four shear stress sensor elements distinguish verticality pressurization and tilted pressurization. Therefore the accuracy of the blood pressure was improved. Errors of blood pressure were 5.4 % at maximum blood pressure and 7.9 % at minimum blood pressure. The error of the fabricated device was smaller than the device with only pressure sensor.
