Abstract :
We consider minimum mean-squared-error (MMSE) design for multiuser detection in direct sequence/spread-spectrum (DS/SS) code division multiple access (CDMA) data networks. State-space model for the CDMA channel adopted. The multiuser detectors are shown to have the same form as the state estimators, and the MMSE detector to be equivalent to the Kalman filter after suitable augmentation with the mean-squared-error (MSE) preserved. The bit error rate (BER) is analyzed, and an illustrative example is worked out for the linear MMSE multiuser detector obtained in this paper.
