Abstract :
Expressway maintenance is very important for the well operation of expressway which is an essential part of national infrastructure. But traditional methods could not meet the requirements of maintenance management of fast developed expressway. Intelligent expressway maintenance system (IEMS) is a new way to solve the problem of expressway maintenance. Firstly, characters of expressway maintenance work are pointed out to find out the special need compared with usual pavement maintenance. Then requirement analysis of IEMS is made according to these characters. A logistic framework of IEMS is proposed on the basis of system requirement analysis and the work flow of IEMS is described. Then the connections between IEMS and other expressway management systems are analyzed as the integration of them is critical to the success of IEMS. At last a framework model of IEMS is proposed and functions of its modules are detailed.
