Abstract :
This paper presents software simulation and experimental verification of the dynamic behaviour of small autonomous power systems with alternative power sources, such as Wind Turbines, small Hydroelectrics and Photovoltaics. The combination of the Hydroelectric power plants and the Diesel generators is of great interest since they have very different rates of power change. For the effective integration of the Photovoltaic (PV) devices into the utility grid, a method for controlling the Inverter´s operation is proposed. According to this method the Power demand from the network is monitored and control signals adjust the angle and the magnitude of the Inverter´s voltage. It is shown that this method improves power quality and stability of the interconnected system
