Abstract :
This paper deals with hydroelectric power plant modeling for generation control. The dynamic system studied consisted of two infinite dimensional subsystems: the hydro power plant and its connection to the grid. Two reduced order models are presented for the hydraulic plant and one simplified model is offered for the multimachine power system. Influences of fast and low dynamics are discussed on the accuracy of the models. The validity of the models was verified by comparing Matlab simulations with some measurements.
