A HTML to WML Translating Model Based on Information Extraction for Mobile Commerce

With the fast development of mobile commerce, the information conversion from Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML) to Wireless Markup Language (WML) is becoming an important issue for end-user information acquisition. But some existing conversions can´t satisfy the demand of mobile electronic trading. Based on the comparative analysis of HTML and WML, through the analysis of conversion process and the structure of Web pages about commodities, a translating model from HTML to WML which is based on information extraction for mobile commerce was proposed in this paper. Due to the technology of information extraction adopted, it improved the conversion effectively in speed and accurate rate, whilst presented the useful information conveniently to the users.
