Abstract :
Radio-on-fiber (ROF) access systems have been studied as an excellent approach for future DSRC (dedicated short range communications) infrastructure in ITS. The paper addresses the DSRC system utilizing the radio-on-fiber technique with possibility of soft hand-over or zone-diversity between the adjacent radio zones by centralized control. A reduction method is proposed to compensate intermodulation distortion (IMD) due to the nonlinearity of the E/O converters and RF amplifiers. The IMD improvement of about 20-25 dB can be obtained, which is expected to be sufficient to solve the most serious problem in the ROF system
