Abstract :
Estimation of the impulse response of power systems is one of the important parts of power system performance assessment. Impulse response data can be used for modelling and control of power system dynamics, and system planning based on stability analysis. In this paper, the preliminary results of modal parameter estimation of impulse response of power system using continuous wavelet transform are presented. The advantage as well as limitation of wavelet based modal estimation when applied to a power system is discussed using simulated benchmark signals
