Agent Mediated Communication for Creating Conversation-Based Community

In this paper we propose a new system for Agent-mediated Communication (AMC) in which a network agent mediates people in the network and provides them with linkage for conversation. People left behind from the progress of the Information Society seem to deepen the feeling of isolation and alienation from the society. The agent on the network mediates such passive people and arranges a sort of place for them to chat and interact with each other. Through subject experiments, we investigate and verify a possibility for AMC to create a chatting-based community where people could find the significance of their presence in the society.
