Abstract :
The measurement and the simulation of magnetic shielding with ferromagnetic material are investigated. The underlying configuration is a laboratory model of the shielding of power cables with constructional steel. The hard- and software for the measurement was developed especially for this purpose. The main aspects are an analog amplification with low noise, a high resolution A/D conversion and digital signal processing. The simulation is done using the finite element method together with the complex effective reluctivity material model, which is fast and reliable. The agreement between measurement and simulation is excellent
