Abstract
In this paper, the mover speed control of a linear induction motor using backstepping control design with the end effects is proposed. Firstly, the direct field oriented control LIM is derived taking into account the end effects. Then, backstepping control design technique is investigated to achieve a speed and flux tracking objective under load thrust force disturbance. The effectiveness of the proposed control scheme is verified by numerical simulation. The numerical validation results of the proposed scheme have presented good performances compared to the conventional backstepping approach.
