Abstract :
Network security is in high demand because of increasing network attacks. As mobile devices have limited CPU power, dedicated hardware is required to provide sufficient virus detection performance with a small energy cost. We present an adaptively dividable dual-port BiTCAM, which unifies binary and ternary CAM, in a virus-detection processor for mobile devices. The BiTCAM design achieves a 48% power-consumption reduction and a 40% transistor-count reduction compared to a design with two separate single-port TCAMs.
