Abstract
Although there are purely numerical methods available to analyze and design conformal antennas on arbitrarily shaped, dielectric coated convex surfaces, they become cumbersome and in some cases intractable at high frequencies. In this work, we present some initial results obtained using a hybrid combination of a new high frequency asymptotic uniform geometrical theory of diffraction (UTD) based Green´s function and a method of moments to obtain either radiation from, or mutual coupling between, conformal antennas placed on a uniformly coated, perfectly electrically conducting (PEC), arbitrarily shaped convex surface. This hybrid method can be very useful to analyze/design electrically large conformal antennas because the Green´s function is obtained analytically except for some special functions that are obtained numerically.
