Abstract :
Pulse wave signals are welcomed in home health monitoring for its easy acquisition and interpretation. Actually, pulse wave signals contain abundant pathophysiological information in their rhythms and waveforms. There have been a few off-the-shelf products for cardiovascular health monitoring based on pulse waveform analysis. In this paper, we attempted to transplant the whole system to an ARM-based mobile platform, including signal acquisition, pulse waveform analysis, data recording, and user interaction. Besides, a new embedded-link paradigm for scalable medical advisory systems was implemented in the platform with limited resources. This research is meaningful toward a smart wearable apparatus for cardiovascular health monitoring at home.
