Abstract :
The authors suggest that a broadband network using a coaxial cable has great potential merits for integrating broadcast and communication networks. In order to implement ISDN (integrated services digital network)-conformable digital voice services on this network, the authors propose (1) a center-measurement-type method involving a time-slotted bus with control window which enables the down-link carrier to be continuous, and (2) a variable-width control window which extends the service area and also increases the number of subscribers. The authors propose a model which can simulate well the bit-error-rate characteristic, taking account of echoes, group-delay distortion, noise flow-in, etc
