Abstract
Burn wounds are common in daily life. Existing medical imaging modalities are limited in detecting the depth and extent of the wound. Terahertz images of burns have shown contrast between burn-damaged tissue and healthy tissue. In this study we use terahertz pulsed imaging to measure the thickness of the stratum corneum on the palm of the hand beneath a plaster and discuss the feasibility of using TPI to assess burn wounds.
