Abstract :
It has been widely recognized that manuals should play an important role in accomplishment of one´s tasks for experienced and new users, and that the efficient acquisition of the information from manuals is essential to the task performance. Aiming at performance support by electronic manual system, we discuss, at first, about the human interface design policy in operational level, task level, and strategic level. Secondary, the policy is applied to the design of electronic manual system for bank task support. We developed the prototype manual system, which enables users with easiness to find, to maintain the manual contents, and also to use with paper manuals
