Abstract :
In this work, a modular structure to implement one-phase photovoltaic inverters for utility grid connection is presented. The proposed structure uses two canonical elements in energy processing, namely, a loss-free resistor (LFR) based on a boost converter and a power gyrator based on a buck converter. An H-bridge stage performs the DC-AC conversion. The LFR performs the DC impedance matching of the PV panel by adjusting the resistance of the loss-free resistor. The power gyrator is of type G and is used to provide high power by paralleling the output ports of all the G-gyrators whose corresponding input ports are supplied by independent LFR´s. PSIM simulations are in perfect agreement with the theoretical predictions.
