Abstract :
In this paper, the authors apply two observer based methods, the Kalman filter technique (KFT) and the Luenberger speed observer (LSO), to vector controlled AC drives to achieve a speed sensorless operation. These two type of methods are simulated and compared on the basis of a set of criteria. The most important parameters which basically influence the quality of drives are estimated and discussed
