Abstract :
Several optical measurement systems for recording catenary related parameters like contact wire position, wire wear, pole position as well as distance between pole and track are described. This paper presents the physical principle of distance measurement based on optical radar technique, the key features of the realised systems and their data evaluation. The results of measuring runs in Italy and Finland are shown.
