Abstract :
In an attempt to overcome the problems of lingering moisture and odor, a ventilated socket, coupled with an active cooling/sensing moisture-removal system, was designed. This yields a prosthesis which is lightweight, is low noise, and has low power consumption, while keeping the added cost at a minimum by using standard materials and components. The design, construction, and test data are presented and discussed
