  • Abstract
    The problem of scientific documentation in developing countries is very important, as everybody knows. The aim of this paper is to present the implementation of the International Road Research data base in the National Laboratory of Civil Engineering, in Portugal. For efficiency, we have chosen, to use a DBMS (in our case a CODASYL Type) for the storage of information subject to interaction with the user, and conventional files for the storage of information necessary for output.
