Abstract :
In this work, the comparative performance of three resource assignment methods for hierarchal cell structures is evaluated. This performance assessment was done with a complex 3D TDMA simulation tool which attempts to mimic, as much as possible, the conditions in actual deployment. Blocking and forced termination probabilities were computed for a simple speed sensitive strategy as well as for procedures that include overflow and take back capabilities for slow users.
