Abstract :
Electron microscopy differences between mechanically stressed skin and control skin were compared for an in vivo and an in vitro pig model. The in vivo model showed significant (p<0.01) collagen fibril increases at all dermal depths while the in vitro model demonstrated significant increases only in the deep dermis. Neither model showed scarred collagen fibril structures but instead natural skin architectures
