  • Abstract
Most previous monodomain or bidomain modeling of the cardiac tissue has been performed using the finite-difference method. An adequate discretization of a tissue with realistic dimensions, however, still often leads to a large model size that is computationally prohibitive. A Chebyshev pseudospectral method is described that allows a significant reduction in the number of nodes required for a given solution accuracy. Details on the pseudospectral technique are presented together with simulation results that demonstrate the high computational performance of the new approach
