Abstract :
Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) devices for alleviating pain and stimulating blood flow use either low-frequency pulses or high-frequency acupuncturelike waves. A machine is reported that produces a low-frequency pulse and incorporate a high-frequency component on alternate cycles. The TENS unit designed consists of three-modules: the waveforms are generated by an XR2206 waveform generator; universal switching regulator subsystems create the voltages necessary to bias the amplification module; and the waveforms are amplified using high-voltage op amps.<>
