Abstract
In circumstances of the deregulated electric power industry, risks are directly brought to the power supply or demand side by impacts from natural disasters, technology faults, or supply and demand variations. This paper analyzes the effective risk management measures through trading participated by the power supply company, power customer and financial institution. Based on the options relations analyses, the structural characteristic, the function of insurance, the incentive and compensative mechanism, and the pricing model of the interruptible load contract are mainly discussed, together with further discussion on the structure and application of exterior power supply insurance.
