Abstract :
A new single-inductor triple-output (SITO) buck converter using CMOS technology is presented in this paper. A new time multiplexing scheme is also proposed for control. This SITO DC-DC buck converter uses only one inductor to provide three independent output voltages. The output voltages of 2.5 V, 1.65 V, and 0.8 V are designed from a 3.6 V power supply. A maximum efficiency of 77.4% is achieved at a total output power of 460 mW, with a switching frequency of 1 MHz. The proposed SITO buck converter circuit has been fabricated with TSMC 0.35 μm 2P4 M CMOS technology, and the active chip area including I/O pad is 1.53 mm × 1.79 mm.
