Abstract :
TSC-PSO (three swarms cooperative-particle swarm optimization) is applied to the optimization design of urban traffic, and average delay per vehicle is regarded as performance index. All of the particle swarms are divided into 3 swarms using the arithmetic of TSC-PSO, two of which fly to the optimum particle in the whole process while the rest fly away from the optimum particle. Traffic signal parameters such as cycle, phase difference and green signal ratio are optimized according to the change and exchange of particle flying direction. The simulation result shows that the method is feasible and effective.
