Abstract
This paper presents the design of a simple and effective nonlinear chattering-free control for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM). This control scheme based on Higher Order Sliding Mode (HOSM) techniques is designed in order to achieve robust direct current and angular position tracking despite the presence of external disturbances and parameter uncertainties. In this work, current and position are controlled as two different systems. The coupling between these two systems is considered as a bounded external disturbance which must be rejected by the proposed control. Since the PMSM model is linearly dependent on control, the super twisting algorithm is used here to control this system. Various simulation tests are carried out to illustrate the effectiveness and the robustness of the proposed approach.
