Abstract
The dynamics of a recurrent Spatio Temporal Neuron (rSEN) is studied. The authors allow rSTEN a “moment of choice” whose length resides in part in the nature of its external environment by introducing two distinguishing parameters, a time varying threshold and a soma potential build up (R.L. Clouse and M.B. Waldron, 1998). The authors find a critical value of the relative refractory period, embedded in the threshold function, that could serve as a bifurcation parameter for the neuron so that the network can transition from order to chaos
