Abstract :
The paper introduces a model of a permanent-magnet generator with shielding cylinder based on the two dimensional calculation of the magnetic field. This model is suitable for calculation of the losses in the shielding cylinder and the voltage and current waveforms. Because the model is analytic, it gives insight into the relations between dimensions and parameters of the machine, which is important when the design is optimized
