Abstract :
This paper analyzes why interior-outer-set model produces an abrupt gradient descent in a membership function and puts forward an approach to reduce the gradient. The core of the approach is to rewrite the definitions of leaving possibility g- and joining possibility q+. To demonstrate the advantage of the improved model, we use it to calculate the risk of crop flood to order farming alternatives for Huarong County, China and compare the result with the one given by former model. The comparison shows that the new model effectively solves the limitation in the former one and develops the essence of interior-outer-set model.
