Abstract
Ad hoc Network is a multi-hop, temporary and autonomous system composed by mobile nodes with wireless receiving and sending functions. The power of each mobile node is supplied by limited power batteries. Rational utilization of node energy will play a crucial role to the ad hoc network performance, so saving energy consumption is important issue of ad hoc network routing protocols. Aiming at deficiency of AODV protocol on energy saving, an energy-balancing routing protocol based on AODV is presented. The protocol takes node remaining energy as routing control condition. By avoiding the low-energy nodes being involved in routing, energy-balancing between nodes has been realized. Simulation results show that the protocol has better performance.
