Abstract :
In real-life situations, supplier selection problems involve multiple selection criteria and the risk associated with supplier failure. It is a fact that the best solution is to develop a solution methodology that combines these two decision factors simultaneously. The literature proposes the analytic hierarchical process (AHP) as a solution to multiple selection criteria problem. On the other hand, the decision tree (DT) can deal with the risk associate with supplier failure problem. This paper is an attempt to investigate the possibility that the results obtained separately from applying DT and AHP to supplier selection problem could help the decision maker to overcome the weakness inherited in each model.
