Abstract
While the life cycle cost benefits of specifying energy efficient motors are clear, the market structure means that without external influences, penetration will remain low. No single approach to transforming the market is sufficient by itself, and so the UK DETR and European Commission are therefore actively involved in a variety of activities aimed at stimulating change in different points of the low voltage motor manufacturing and purchasing chain
