Abstract
A method for locating the centers of articulating joints is developed. The method is based on kinematic constraints imposed by the rigid body model of the lower extremities. No static examination or knee alignment device is required and the derived joint centers are independent of marker placement. The results from five able-bodied subjects show joint centers comparable to those found using regression and knee alignment methods
