  • Abstract
Switching amplifier, normally called ClassD amplifier has become increasingly popular in Audio application because of its significantly high efficiency(>80%) and improved linearity gained by a servo modulator loop like PDM and PWM. But, switching amplifier also contains many tough issues needed to be solved to really replace other conventional linear amplifiers. EMI, big ripple current, low PSRR, over current damage... all these have a big impact on the performance of switching amplifier and limits its implemental applications. But, attracted by its high efficiency, digital-friendly interface and easier integration in fine geometry process, lots of creative design ideas have been invented to improve its performance. With all this efforts, switching amp is showing a big potential to be implemented into many applications, will have a foreseeable bright future
