Abstract :
This paper investigates a new predictive direct torque control scheme for induction machine drives. The method predicts the machine torque responses to the voltage vectors of a three-level inverter using a simple machine model. The results are used to select the optimal vector to be applied to the machine. The method is aimed at achieving good torque control performances at low switching frequencies. Simulation results of the method controlling a three-level VSI-fed induction machine are presented
