Abstract :
A thermal-array digital recorder based on the Intel 8031 microcontroller, which uses a fixed-line thermal printhead (TPH) and can record both real-time waveforms and alphanumeric data, is introduced. A 7-128 decoder circuit is used to realize the all-points-addressable control of the TPH. A monostable-driving-array circuit is designed to produce a minimum heating pulse for TPH. The method of interpolation is adopted to provide continuous waveform recording, and the internal timer of the Intel 8031 is used to provide the real-time recovered waveform recording for different sampling frequencies.<>
