Abstract :
The authors consider general multi-input multi-output (MIMO) systems. Necessary and sufficient conditions are given to find a linear subsystem of the largest dimension by a suitable coordinate change after the usual input-output linearization has been applied. A proof of the main theorem is outlined and provides the procedure to find the desired coordinate change
